Business - Education Forum
Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, PSD
Several business leaders will offer their views on the challenge of educating students to be prepared in the global economy during a business in education meeting hosted by Poudre School District and the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce. This is the first of two meetings PSD and the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce are collaborating on to initiate a dialogue about education among business leaders, who will share ideas intended to move the Preschool through Grade 12 (P-12) education agenda forward in the Fort Collins community. Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer David May will host the Sept. 17 meeting. Panel members Tom Gendron, Woodward-Governor; Kevin Unger, PVH; and Jim Zafarana, Hewlett-Packard, will offer their unique viewpoints to illustrate the changing dynamics of the workplace for which PSD students need to be prepared. PSD Superintendent Jerry Wilson will offer an overview of the challenges PSD faces in the upcoming year and some of the student performance trends the district is monitoring for students to be successful.
